Ok: Simple diagram not the most current obviously.... and theres no coolant in there, but you have heated hydrogen in the reaction so inorder to keep the mixing chamber cool, you require coolant. This is neccesary becuase your reaction chamber requires sensitive equipment in the controll reaction. IF it gets hot, you loose dillithium, and sensory devices and field stability devices.

Additionally: Coils can be afflicted by magnetic valence, creating less affective operation, typically drives can be super-charged to overcome this, but requires more energy, and is less affective. Additionally, you may have less stability in your field so deflectors maybe less affective as well. Sometimes this occurs in nebulas. You may also choose lower warp factors, with same "drive" power as normal conditions in higher warp factors.
