IFS News Posting Guidelines

Posting news articles to the Integrated Fleet System (IFS) can be a valuable resource for simulation advertising and community development. Here are just a few things to keep in mind when writing your posts that will help those responsible for approving them.

1) Members should make every effort to post news from an In-Character point-of-view. The exception to this would be official Fleet News (ie applications, promotions, etc).

2) The Integrated Fleet System (IFS) relies on HTML coding to display content and this includes user-submitted news posts. Members are expected to use appropriate HTML coding tags in their submissions. Basic HTML tags you might need include:
- Use <p> to start each paragraph and </p> to indicate where the paragraph ends.
- Use <br> whenever you need to drop something down a single line.
- Use <b> at the start of a word or phrase and </b> at the end of it to make it bold
- Use <i> at the start of a word or phrase and </i> at the end of it to make it italic

3) Each news item includes an introduction section. This should be something relatively short that captures readers' attention and makes them want to read more. Introductions should be no more than one paragraph with the main content of the news article contained in the larger text section.
