Alright...
Some of you have used phpBB3 before I'm sure... so you may know some of this.
First off, those of you with Avatars, you may need to re-link them and explicitly set the size. I'm sure if you've looked, a lot of you have noticed that your avatars are a bit distorted. This is because a setting on the server that I can't alter is keeping the forums from being able to detect the size of remote avatar images.
Kindly remember that the maximum size for avatar images is 150x150. Smaller is fine, larger will be deleted. Given that the new forum theme has an odd-colored, translucent background for the User ID area, I recommend using PNG images with alpha channels for the best look. If you don't know what that means, drop me or your usual graphics monkey a line to see if we can help with your current avatar. (Obviously if your avatar is a character image, this doesn't matter, as it's going to stand out as a square against any background).
If you need any help with any of the features that are new in phpBB3, please contact myself or one of the other Fleet Council members and we'll try to help you out.

Another note...
Everyone please look at your options when you're posting. A lot of people have recently been trying to insert quotes, italics, bold text, etc in their posts while having the "Disable BBCode" option checked. When you do this, you end up with the code showing up as plain text in your posts. I've been fixing this as I've seen it, but would rather everyone make sure that box is un-checked if BBCode is going to be used in the post.
My theory is that this is leftover from blanket settings on the phpBB2 version of the forums that kept some funky things from happening when certain characters were used in posts.

I have BBCode enabled, but on certain posts it does not show up. More specifically the posts in the proposals section.

Perhaps when that topic was created the BBCode was disabled.
When you enter that thread, there is no option on top for "New Topic" and when you go to reply, there is a stripped down interface.
This thread, for example has "New Topic" next to "Reply" and the reply screen has smilies, formatting and a color chart.
No, the problem was actually with the permissions settings for that forum, not the topic. The entire Proposals forum is limited such that only FC members can post new topics and it was set such that BBCode could not be used by normal users.
